Anthony Mackie's Sam Wilson finally embraced his new role as Captain America in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, continuing the legacy of Chris Evans' Steve Rogers, who retired at the end of Avengers: Endgame. Instead of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier season 2, Sam Wilson is set to return to the MCU in 2025's upcoming Captain America: Brave New World, marking his theatrical debut as the MCU's new star-spangled man-with-a-plan. Captain America: Brave New World will see Sam Wilson's Captain America team up with Danny Ramirez's Joaquín Torres, the new Falcon, and Harrison Ford's President Ross to take on the threat of Tim Blake Nelson's Samuel Sterns, a.k.a. Leader. Marvel Studios' CinemaCon presentation in April 2024 revealed new story details for Captain America: Brave New World, and a first look at Sam Wilson and President Ross. The Falcon and the Winter Soldier saw Sam Wilson get a vibranium suit, but Captain America: Brave New World has already upgraded this costume, hinting at the potential themes of the Phase 5 project.
