When I first fell in love with climbing, there was no YouTube, no Reddit, and no online climbing community to connect with.

I got hooked on climbing when I was around age 10. The gym was like my second home.

I wanted to be climbing all the time. And when I wasn’t climbing, I wanted to know everything I could about the sport.

So every month I took a 25-minute bus ride each way to the city newsstand to get the latest Climbing Magazine and Rock & Ice. These magazines were my only link to the climbing world, offering glimpses of cool places and the lives of professional climbers.

Even though the news was a couple of months old by the time it reached Norway, it was an important connection to the sport for me.

This is part of the reason that Altitude exists. Now, I’m lucky to be in a position where I have regular access to the world’s best climbers, products, coaches, and more. So I’m happy that I can share that access with climbers all over the world. It would have been game-changing for that 10-year-old kid in Norway.

And I know it can be game-changing for you, too.

That’s why the first person I asked to create a course with Altitude was Adam Ondra.

Adam thinks more deeply about climbing than almost anyone. And he’d never had the platform or space to really distill everything he’s discovered over his 25+ years of climbing.

And Adam brought the same dedication and passion he has for climbing to the creation of the course, and the result is something that’s unlike anything that exists so far.

Adam’s course is reopening again next week on May 29th. This time it’ll stay open year-round, but we will have a little bonus for everyone signing up during the first five days. We will only send one or two more emails to you here once the doors open.

So, to be first in line when the doors to Adam’s course open, sign up here and get a sample lesson: altitudeclimbing.com/adam-ondra-sneak-peek/

In my last video, I tried some hard (and wet!) boulders with Dave MacLeod at Dumbarton Rock.

If you watched the video closely, you might have noticed that there were a few moments when the moves we did went from “impossible” to “easy.” Did you notice what we did differently?

When climbing with Dave, I was blown away by the attention to detail he has for climbing. He notices things I wouldn’t even think of. And that’s exactly what happened on those boulders – we tweaked our footwork, found better footholds and body positions, and all of a sudden, the moves fell into place.

That’s what you’ll learn how to do in Dave’s new comprehensive climbing technique course on my climbing platform, Altitude.

Dave walks you through all the different types of moves you need to learn in climbing, as well as the critical things that make those moves easier. He also teaches you his approach to learning technique, which is the key difference between climbers who plateau indefinitely and ones who continue to progress.

The course is suitable for a wide range of levels. As an 8b+ climber, you will be able to fill gaps in your knowledge that help you perfect your technique. As a 6a climber, you will build your technique repertoire that you need to break into harder grades, through videos that are much more thorough than what you might find on YouTube.

The course is open for enrollment until Sunday, April 28th, and you can learn all about it here: altitudeclimbing.com/climbing-technique-signup/
