If you want to improve your climbing technique, you should learn from Dave MacLeod.

Dave thinks about climbing differently than anyone else I’ve met.

He’s incredibly analytical. He points out the details I never even thought of. And he has a unique ability to make learning technique enjoyable through what he calls “serious play.”

That’s why I am so excited to announce that Dave MacLeod’s climbing technique course is now open for enrollment (until Sunday, April 28th).

Arguably the most comprehensive climbing technique resource in the world, it covers everything you need to know to improve your technique.

If you want to:

- Systematically improve your climbing technique
- Fill in your technical gaps
- Master footwork, body positioning, and dynamic movements
- Expand your technique repertoire
- Improve your problem-solving abilities
- Climb more smoothly and gracefully
- Unlock a wider variety of climbs
- And much, much more…

Then check out Dave’s new course: altitudeclimbing.com/climbing-technique-signup/

Dave and the entire Altitude team have been working hard to create this course, and we can’t wait for you to watch it.

I hope to see you inside!

**Climbing technique course announcement**

Throughout my decades inside climbing gyms and out at the crag, I’ve heard countless climbers say that they wish that they had better climbing technique.

When we started Altitude last year we talked to climbers from around the world in order to create courses they crave. We found that hundreds would love to deeply understand the subtleties of footwork, body positioning, hip placement, and dynamic movements, and to feel more confident on both slabby and steep terrain.

That’s why, behind the scenes, we created a complete climbing technique course with Dave MacLeod.

This course covers all the essential and advanced climbing techniques inside and out. You’ll learn how to execute different techniques properly through hundreds of detailed examples and demonstrations, how to identify and overcome the technical weaknesses that hold you back from progressing through the grades, and when to use different techniques based on the terrain, shape, and positioning of the holds on the wall.

In case you aren’t familiar with Dave yet, I consider him one of the best climbing technique coaches, and he is recognized as one of the best all-around climbers in the world.

Having climbed 8C boulders, 9a sport climbs, sketchy and dangerous E11 trad and XII,12 mixed routes, and even an 8b+ free solo, it’s safe to say he trusts his climbing technique with his life.

This course is something truly special, and will officially open its doors on Wednesday, April 24th.

To learn more about the course and get access to a free 6-part video series from the course, head over to altitudeclimbing.com/dave-macleod-sneak-peek/

In the lesson, Dave breaks down a unique footwork technique that you can use to climb better in your very next session, and make “impossible” moves feel easy.

I hope you’ll check it out!

*** Today is a big day for climbing! ***

After months of work, I’m super excited to share Adam Ondra’s first-ever lead climbing course with you.

We created this course with Adam to help you climb harder routes than you ever imagined, push beyond your physical limit, and show yourself what you’re truly capable of (without the need to get any stronger).

Imagine the next time it’s your turn on the wall…

…you look up at a route a whole grade above what you ever climbed before and think, “I got this.”

…you climb the route with newfound confidence, flow, and intuition (and get less pumped than you expected)

…and once you send it, your climbing partner turns to you with a look of confusion and admiration, and asks “When did you get so strong!?”

I am confident this will happen to you once you go through Adam’s course because we’ve now seen it happen over and over again with the climbers that Adam coached.

I’ve been waiting for this day for a long time and can't wait for you to check it out.

I hope to see you inside!

*** We made an online course with Adam Ondra! ***

Over the past year, I’ve been working on a new project.

It’s called Altitude, a climbing platform with online courses taught by the best climbers in the world (like Adam Ondra, Alex Megos, and Daniel Woods to name a few).

On February 7th, we’ll be releasing our first online climbing course with the one and only, Adam Ondra.

It’s unlike anything you’ve ever seen.

Adam worked together with our team for over 6 months and brought the same dedication and passion he has for climbing to the creation of the course. And the result is truly something special.

Want to check it out?

Go to altitudeclimbing.com/adam-ondra-sneak-peek/

You’ll be able to watch a sample lesson from the course, get more details about it, and be the first in line when the doors open.

*** Bouldering Blueprint is open again! ***

And this time registration will stay open year-round! Bouldering Blueprint is my online course for beginner to intermediate climbers. It’s the course I wish I had access to when I first started climbing.

My goal is to give you a solid foundation for climbing. You are going to learn how to improve your body positioning and footwork on slabs, how to climb overhangs and roofs, and how to confidently approach dynamic boulders.

I will show you all of this through examples with real climbers of all ability levels, where I guide them to overcome whatever is keeping them from progressing.

I will also teach you how to start training your fingers in a safe way, how to become a stronger climber through different exercises both on and off the wall, and how to add more structure to your training so you can get the most out of your sessions at the gym and maximize your progress.

Finally, you’ll learn how you find the right beta for your body type and climbing style so you can send harder boulders in less time, and finally stop blaming everything on reach ;)

Plus, if you join before Sunday, December 10, 2023 at 11:59 US ET you’ll have an opportunity to get coached by me as part of Online Bouldering Clinic - a special reopening bonus.

On Wednesday I opened the doors to Bouldering Blueprint (my first-ever online climbing course) and it’s been incredible to see so many people join.

If you haven’t had a chance yet, you can check out all the details about the course here: www.boulderingblueprint.com/

In the course, we cover everything from buying your first pair of climbing shoes, to expanding your technique toolkit, gently building finger strength, playful exercises and drills you can use to warm up or train, and how to project routes and quickly move up through the grades.

So much has gone into making this course possible and I’m really proud of the final result.

So if you’re ready to take your climbing to the next level and have even more fun at the gym, I hope you check it out!

***Big announcement***

Last December I posted a survey asking you about your climbing experience.

It was your input that then shaped one of the most ambitious projects I've undertaken over the last couple of years.

And now, after many months of work behind the scenes, I couldn't be more excited to share:

My first ever climbing online course called Bouldering Blueprint will be released on September 20th!

To be first in line when enrolment opens and to get an exclusive sneak peak head over to www.boulderingblueprint.com/

The course is designed for beginners to intermediate climbers and will help you develop better technique, feel stronger on the wall, and send harder grades than ever before.

In the course I show you exactly what to do in the gym to get stronger, how to approach each session to have fun and get better, and explore climbing in whole new ways.

I've poured my heart into this and can't wait to share it with you!

Update: Thank you so much for your quick help! The survey received a terrific response and is now closed. I really appreciate your support and look forward to sharing more about the project soon!

I’d love your help!

I’m working on a new project for those interested in improving their climbing skills or learning to climb for the first time.

In order to make it something that’s really useful to you, it would be incredible if you could answer a couple of questions. (No matter if you’re crushing V9s, just bought your first pair of climbing shoes, or have yet to go to the climbing gym for the first time - I’d love to hear from you.)

If you have five minutes, it’d be wonderful if you could take this quick survey: bit.ly/3CZ3M6U

How hard do you boulder?

In light of the most recent video I thought it would be interesting to know the level of the average viewer.
