This song is about how the patriarchy and the church villainised Eve and misrepresented her story in an attempt to place themselves above women. And how that, unfortunately, worked for so long that women themselves reinforced that belief. They convinced us to hate each other, compete with each other and hate ourselves. This song is a call to action to unite as women, regardless of class, race or background and recognise our own biases and shortcomings to better dismantle the patriarchy. Light stuff really ❤️

The first track from my EP ‘Afraid of Quiet’ releases tomorrow with a full live action music video ! (Face reveal?…🙊) Presave here - ffm.to/afraidofquiet.OYD

On a more personal note this song means a great deal to me as it documents my story and what I have struggled with in life. It’s kinda terrifying releasing such a personal song when I’ve gotten into a habit of telling villain stories or recording covers.

That and it’s scary because I’m not sure if people are really that interested in my personal songs, they’re in a folky pop style which isn’t what I usually do and there’s a little voice that says ‘why do this kind of content, no one really cares about this, make another villain song’ but I care about it! So regardless of how these songs perform numerically I’m just so proud of what we’ve made and the fact that we created this little slice of art is all the success and sense of achievement I need!

This song is the first of three tracks from my EP with the second track releasing in two weeks (June 1st) and the third releasing two weeks after (June 15th) so I do hope you’ll come along with me as I tell my stories ! Until then I’ll see you tomorrow for the big release day!!
